The story behind The Final Frontier
-----------------------------------
Jet Set Willy premiered on Spectrum. It was then converted for CPC, but on this occasion, they added lots of rooms, lots of extra items to collect, and refined the gameplay. They named this game "Jet Set Willy - The Final Frontier". It is this version which was then switched back to Spectrum and adapted for almost all personal computers of the time under the name Jet Set Willy 2 (you can find this mention int the title on main screen of the game).
When Ocean contacted Software Project to suggest including Jet Set Willy in their "They Sold A Million" compilation, Software Project had the idea of making a truncated version of the game offering only the initial Jet Set Willy content on Spectrum, in order to continue selling "Jet Set Willy - The Final Frontier" as a standalone game.
This is how today you find "Jet Set Willy", a version released later containing only the original rooms, and "Jet Set Willy - The Final Frontier" (or Jet Set Willy 2), containing a maximum number of additional rooms, but released first. Logical, isn't it?
